Times:
Thursday evenings 7pm - 9pm.
Cost:
Each session is £2, paid on arrival so you can attend as many or as few sessions as you wish.
What to expect:
We provide a selection of equipment which anyone can use, as well as their own if they have it and want to bring it along. If you want to learn a skill, there is always someone who’ll be able to help you as skill-share evenings attract people with a whole range of talents so people can trade their knowledge. For a rough idea, most Thursday evenings see juggling (clubs, balls, contact, rings, tennis balls, hats…), poi, hula hoop, unicycle, diabolo, devil stick, cigar boxes and stilt walking; and that’s just on a regular basis – with circus, your limit is your imagination!
Most evenings are unstructured, allowing people to practise whatever they want, but on top of this we sometimes put on a specific workshop for those that want to join in with it, to offer people the chance to try some less-accessible skills such as tightwire, aerial trapeze or lasso.
When you first join, you’ll need to fill in a couple of forms (Under 12's please bring along a parent or guardian the first time you come to help us get this sorted out), after which all you need is £2 and yourself!
If your imagination is sparked by a new skill you’ve had a go at or seen, you can order your own equipment through us to practise at home, as well as books or videos for inspiration and instruction (check out the shop section of the website to see what’s available).
For more information, drop us an email, phone us, or come and talk to us on a Thursday night! |
